They have 2 main technology types: Analogue and Digital

Within those there are 2 levels of equipment : Entry Level and Mainstream Product.

Analogue is old technology and spares and not going to be around forever. Also, if you compare an 8MP Analogue picture to an 8MP Digital picture there is a clear difference.

The Digital Systems come with far superior detection algorithms for motion as well as built in sirens and microphones.

The entry level equipment is very basic, comes with a greatly reduced warranty (12 months as opposed to 36 months for mainstream) and as installers, we do not get any technical support whatsoever. The build quality is also less.

I would always recommend a survey, as a professional CCTV engineer to determine the best cameras, lenses, heights, angles and cable runs.
